President Donald Trump asked a White House reporter if she was a "stupid" when she asked him about the suspected killer of US National Guard member Sarah Beckstrom.
CBS News White House correspondent Nancy Cordes confronted Trump about reports that the suspect in the shootings of Beckstrom and Staff Sergeant Andrew Wolfe was vetted by the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security before being allowed into the U.S. from Afghanistan. She then asked why Trump accused former President Joe Biden of allowing the suspect to enter without being vetted.
"Your Department of Justice Inspector General just reported that there was a thorough vetting by DHS and the FBI of these Afghans who were brought to the U.S., so why are you blaming the Biden administration?" she asked.
"Because they let him in. Are you stupid? Are you a stupid person?" Trump retorted, adding, "They came on a plane with thousands of other people who shouldn't be here. And you're just asking questions because you're a stupid person."
