Donald Trump

As Iran continued its attacks on the Emirates today, Trump was calmer and minimized the problems in the region...

US President Donald Trump has reacted to the re-escalation of the conflict with Iran, which has resumed airstrikes.

Today, the United Arab Emirates said it had intercepted a series of missiles in mid-air, which were suspected to have been launched from Iran. But Trump continues to play with words, taking a softer stance.

The president first hosted a group of young athletes and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth at the White House for a signing of a proclamation for a presidential fitness test in schools. He thanked Hegseth for an earlier briefing at the Pentagon, before quickly moving on to developments with Iran.

" Iran doesn't have a chance. It never has. They know that. They tell me when I talk to them and then they go on television and say how well they're doing ," Trump said.

Referring to the recent clashes in the Strait of Hormuz, the US president described them as a "small clash", while adding that financial markets in the US have reacted positively. " Today we reached a historic level in the stock market, despite that small clash ", he declared.

Trump also reiterated his stance on Iran's nuclear program, stressing that Washington will not allow Tehran to possess such weapons. " We cannot allow Iran to have nuclear weapons. The power of a nuclear weapon is something I don't even want to talk about, but it's not going to happen ," he said.

The US president added that the US has severely hit Iran's military capabilities. " We have essentially destroyed their military in about two weeks ," Trump said, including ground, naval and air forces in this assessment.
