Palestinian factions meeting in Cairo, including Hamas, agreed in a joint statement to temporarily hand over the management of Gaza to an independent committee of technocrats, following the deal brokered by Donald Trump.
According to the document, the various Palestinian groups have decided to create a "temporary Palestinian committee composed of independent technocratic residents, responsible for managing basic services," Ansa reports.
The groups agreed on a national strategy aimed at "revitalizing the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) as the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people."
