The High Prosecutorial Council (KLP) today elected Klodian Braho as the new head of SPAK, with a three-year mandate.
Journalist Klodiana Lala, speaking about the meeting held today, said that the level of questions from the KLP members was at a scandalous level. She further added that a good part of the KLP members were not even included in the questioning process at all.
“ The first thing that worried me was the level of questions from the members of the Special Prosecutor’s Office. The longest-serving prosecutor in the system, Sokol Stojani, asked almost no questions. Given that he has extensive experience in major cases and is one of the most active members of the Council, I had high expectations that he would ask substantive questions related to how the candidates intend to run the Special Prosecutor’s Office.
All four candidates were tense and emotional, as they are not used to long public appearances and direct contact with the media. The presence of international factors, of the highest diplomatic representations, created additional pressure in the hall. Another element that stood out was the lack of involvement of the majority of the KLP members in the discussion. The majority of the Council did not actively participate in the debate, and this is something that should be highlighted and emphasized ,” said Lala on the show "Të Paekspozuarit".
