The Presidency of the Republic has officially published the list of 10 candidates who have expressed interest in filling the vacancy in the Constitutional Court, created on April 25, 2025. In its announcement, the Presidency confirms that the application procedure has been opened by Decree No. 387, dated 31.10.2025, in accordance with the Constitution and the law on the organization of the Constitutional Court.
Competing for the high constitutional post are well-known figures from the world of justice, including former judges, lawyers, professors and names who have previously had involvement in important state or academic institutions.
List of candidates for the vacancy on the Constitutional Court:

Arta Vorpsi
Brunilda Bara
Genci Gjoncaj
Jordan Daci
Lulzim Hamitaj

Roland Ilia
After the announcement of the list, the Judicial Appointments Council (JAC) is expected to review the applications and rank the candidates according to legal and professional criteria, to finally send the names to the President for decree. The process is important for the balance and functioning of the Constitutional Court, which remains one of the key institutions in the justice system.
