An incident was recorded during Prime Minister Edi Rama's visit to the city of Lezha, where two citizens were detained by the police and escorted to the police station for several hours.
According to sources, one of the escorted persons is a supporter of the Democratic Party, while the other is a protester over property issues from the Rrjoll area in Velipoja. Both were held at the police station for about four hours, until the Prime Minister's agenda was completed and he left the city.
The case was reported by Festim Meta, one of the escorts, who stated that at the time of the arrest he was returning to his apartment and that the police did not give him any explanation for the reasons for the escort.
On the other hand, official sources from the Lezha police indicate that the intervention was carried out on a preventive basis, as there was information that the two people could create incidents during the prime minister's visit.
Prime Minister Edi Rama inspected the works in Lezha, where the new road connecting the village of Rrilë and Hidrovori i Tale with the Lezha-Tirana highway is being built.
