Former President Ilir Meta has completed his testimony at SPAK regarding January 21.
He was questioned by BKH investigators who were assigned by the prosecutor of the case, Alfred Shehu.
Ilir Meta's lawyer quoted details from the former president's testimony to journalist Anila Hoxha.
" The American services informed me that the protest would be violent and would end in murder. I resigned because they asked me to because they knew there would be a violent scenario and to mitigate the clashes I resigned. This information was given to our secret service and the presidency ," Meta is reported to have said on January 21.
Meta himself addressed SPAK with a request to summon him to provide explanations regarding the incident, as due to the positions he has held, he claims to have data that could serve the investigation.
As part of the investigation into the SPAK file, it has taken the testimonies of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, former President Bamir Topi, and other officials. On January 21, 15 years ago, the protesters Ziver Veizi, Faik Myrtaj, Hekuran Deda, and Aleks Nika were killed by the Guard.
