The American military aircraft Boeing P-8A Poseidon, operates for hours from the Adriatic to the Middle East...
The United States appears to have significantly increased military monitoring in the Mediterranean and Adriatic Sea, activating advanced aerial assets for expanded surveillance of the region.
According to data published by Itamilradar, a US Navy Boeing P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft conducted a long and unusual mission, which also included areas near Albania.
The aircraft took off from the US base NAS Sigonella in Sicily and flew for about eight hours non-stop. In the first phase of the mission, it headed northeast over the Ionian Sea and entered the southern Adriatic, operating in an area between the coasts of Italy, Albania and Montenegro.

The prolonged presence of such an aircraft in this area is considered unusual, suggesting a particular interest in developments in this maritime corridor, which connects the Mediterranean with the Western Balkans.
The aircraft then changed course and headed south towards the Mediterranean, operating in a strategically sensitive area south of Cyprus. During this phase, it flew at a relatively low altitude, around 8,000 feet, which is usually associated with targeted reconnaissance and surveillance operations.
The P-8A Poseidon is one of the most advanced maritime patrol aircraft in the US arsenal. It is used for reconnaissance, surveillance and anti-submarine operations, as well as for identifying the movements of military vessels or other maritime activities. Equipped with advanced sensors and radars, this aircraft can monitor large areas and collect information in real time.
The Eastern Mediterranean region, especially near Syria and the Middle East, remains one of the most sensitive areas for international security. Such patrols are used to monitor the presence of submarines and naval vessels that do not belong to allies.

After the operation was completed, the aircraft returned to its base in Sicily, once again confirming the role of this base as a key hub for American surveillance operations in the region.
This development coincides with a period of increased military activity in the Mediterranean, where NATO is also conducting the “Neptune Strike” exercise. However, the profile of this mission suggests a broader scope of American attention, which also includes the Adriatic and the areas near Albania. /Pamphlet
