The online petition "Rama Out", which calls for the removal of Prime Minister Edi Rama, has exceeded 450 thousand signatures, becoming one of the most followed initiatives in the Albanian digital space in recent months.
According to data published by the campaign organizers, the petition has been signed by 454,969 people so far. The number of signatures continues to grow, while the initiative is spreading rapidly on social networks and online platforms where citizens are being invited to give their support.
Organizers have set a goal of collecting 1,000,001 signatures. With the current result, the petition has reached nearly 40 percent of its stated goal, while its supporters are intensifying the campaign to expand participation in the coming days.
This online movement is taking place in parallel with the protests being organized against the government in several cities in Albania, as well as in Albanian communities abroad. Through social networks, organizers are combining on-the-ground mobilization with digital mobilization, aiming to include citizens who do not physically participate in the rallies.
According to statements made public by the campaign leaders, the petition is presented as an instrument to express citizens' stance on the political situation in the country. They argue that the growing number of signatures reflects the support that the initiative is finding among a section of the public.
The increased interest in the petition coincides with the continuation of protests, where participants have raised concerns related to economic, social and political issues. In this context, the online platform is being used as an additional channel for the articulation of citizens' demands and positions.
Meanwhile, the anti-government protest enters its ninth day today. Organizers have announced that the gathering will begin at 6:00 p.m. Participants are expected to gather at Skanderbeg Square and then proceed towards the boulevard in front of the Prime Minister's Office building.
The petition remains open for signatures and can be accessed by citizens inside and outside Albania through the dedicated platform created by the organizers of the initiative.
