Some of the protesters gathered in front of the Parliament moved during the plenary session towards the other entrance to the Parliament, in the Pedonales area, after reports that some MPs might leave the building early.
Upon their arrival at this entrance, the protesters threw eggs towards the Parliament building and the security area. Some of them also hit State Police officers who were stationed at the security perimeter.
However, some protesters reacted by calling on those present not to shoot at the blue uniforms. Calls were heard from the crowd that the protest should not be directed against the police, but against state institutions.
Since the early hours of the morning, clashes were recorded between protesters and police forces, the metal fence installed for the security of the Parliament was damaged, while the police used irritating spray to disperse the crowd. Several people were injured during the incidents, including activist Gent Progni, while a police officer was injured after being hit in the head with a stone.
Despite the incidents, the protest continued in parallel with the plenary session, while numerous police forces remain present in the area around the Parliament and security measures continue to be increased.
