The recent successive resignations of directors and heads of administrative units are related to a new strategy by Prime Minister Edi Rama to bring figures from the opposition right closer to the administration.

According to journalist Mariglen Kume, this is being accomplished through a regular legal form, where there are no dismissals by decision, but a verbal communication from the prime minister that encourages leaders to leave on their own, by submitting their resignation with a declared desire.

"After Rama's visit and his meeting with the directors and the chairperson, all directors and chairpersons of administrative units have submitted their resignations and have left their positions. Rama has legally taken care to ensure that the legal procedure is correct because we do not have a procedural dismissal, but verbal communication, he asks them to leave and they submit their resignations. 

From the information I have, the prime minister is using this to create space, to bring as many right-wing opposition figures as possible who are expected to take office. 

"The second is that the prime minister has just come out of the elections, for his campaign he made promises to various people who helped him and voted for him," the journalist told McN Live.

Meanwhile, today, as was announced during the meeting two days ago between Prime Minister Rama and the local SP structures in Durrës, all directors of the Municipality of Durrës and heads of Administrative Units have submitted their resignations to Mayor Sako.

It will be the committee headed by the latter and some of the deputies that will decide whether or not to reconfirm these positions.
