Security expert Ervin Karamuço has harshly commented on the phenomenon of unauthorized construction and occupation of public spaces, emphasizing that the situation had reached alarming proportions.
"If we had left it another 5-6 months, we would have sidewalks with ownership certificates, " Karamuço said, emphasizing that legalizations had become a widespread practice of abuse. He emphasized that the recent interventions are not accidental, but part of a dual effort directly related to the EU integration process: restoring the rule of law on the territory and the fight against corruption.
According to him, illegal construction had become an important channel of corruption, where officials "made palaces" at the expense of public property.
