Lezha is the place where Albanians united on March 2, 1444, where everything began for the defense of the nation at a time when the nation was in danger of disappearing.
Lezha – On April 18th and 19th, the city of Lezha will be the center of a unique activity that brings together art, nature and tourism.
The Municipality of Lezha organizes the first Nationwide Photography Festival, an initiative that aims to turn the focus of the public and tourists towards the extraordinary natural assets of this area.
This two-day event will welcome around 35 passionate photographers from Albania, Kosovo and North Macedonia. The initiative comes as a close collaboration between the Tourism Directorate of the Municipality of Lezha and a group of photographers from Kosovo, specialized in the “Wildlife” genre.
A vision that goes beyond local dimensions
The project comes as a continuation of the policies of the Municipality of Lezha for the promotion of culture and tourism. The Municipality of Lezha, headed by its mayor, Pjerin Ndreu, is already renowned for the creation, support and development of such cultural and artistic, promotional activities that go beyond local dimensions. Under this leadership, Lezha is positioning itself more and more every day as an important center of events with nationwide impact, turning the city into a crossroads of artistic values and tourist development.
A symbolic connection between Albanian photographers
The selection of Lezha for this festival is not accidental. The coordinator of the activity, a well-known photographer from Prizren, Liridon Shala, links this initiative to the historical importance of the city:
" Lezha is the place where Albanians were united on March 2, 1444, where everything began for the defense of the nation at a time when the nation was in danger of disappearing. This unifying festival marks a new kind of connection, a kind of Assembly among Albanian photographers, a union through art to document our beauties, where Lezha is rare in its beauties! "
The Director of Tourism in the Municipality of Lezha, Renaldo Xhanej, emphasizes that " this activity is a powerful tool for promoting tourism potential, focusing on the Kune-Vaini area, where virgin landscapes are combined with amazing biodiversity" ! Xhanej adds that the activity can be extended in the coming years!
Program: From the field to the open exhibition
The activity is conceived in two main phases:
Day One – Exploration : Photographers will go down to the field to capture authentic moments of wildlife, waterfowl, and landscapes where the natural light of the coast creates unique compositions.
Day Two – Exhibition : The most beautiful photographs taken will be printed and exhibited on easels in an open environment, offering the public an artistic look at the hidden beauties of Lezha.
This festival is not just an aesthetic competition, but an invitation to rediscover nature and promote "Green Tourism" through the power of image.
