The city of Shkodra was shaken on Thursday evening by a mafia assassination attempt.
34-year-old Kristian Kola was drinking coffee in the middle of the city, in a bar at the 'Kinema Republika', when two perpetrators shot at him, leaving him dead on the spot.
As the investigation into the incident continues, in an interview with "Top Channel", the victim's father accuses the authorities. According to him, the ambulance's intervention was delayed, while he says that he learned the news of the loss of his son from the media.
"I found out about it through foreign media, he went out after work with friends, had a coffee. The assassins shot him in disbelief. It's not the first case in Shkodra that a contract killing has occurred, but the man kills you on sight. Here 99% is the hand of the police, of the State that gives these assassins the opportunity to kill in advance.
"The boy worked in construction. He had no opportunity to do any other work, because he was in construction 10 hours a day. I had the boy as a friend, he had a special nature, he was wise and sociable. He was not involved in any other activity ," said the victim's father.
According to his father, the 34-year-old had no conflicts, and on the night of the incident he was with a friend.
"As a family, we have not had any conflicts or anything. Christian only had 1 vehicle in his name, he was not married, but he was with a girl who stayed in our house for as long as he wanted, then they separated amicably. The night the assassination took place, he was with a friend who always stays. They killed him, he lay on the ground for 1 hour, if the ambulance had arrived earlier, he might have lived," he added.
Kristian Kola's father warned of self-righteousness if the incident is not solved and the perpetrators are not punished.
"I'm thinking about revenge, if the person who killed my son comes out, I'll kill him, I'll take revenge personally. I'll take it out on those police officers who don't, I'm not afraid of anyone. They can kill me behind my back, but I'm not afraid of anyone. The Shkodra police force must be abolished, with foundations, and another police force must be established," continued Kristian Kola's father.
