The wait is over. Luciano Spalletti is officially the new coach of Juventus. The renowned Italian coach signed a contract with the black and white club today that will see him lead the team until the end of the season.
This was precisely Juventus' basic condition, which did not offer a long-term contract for the coach, who had to show how much he was worth by the end of this season.
Juventus announcement:
"Luciano Spalletti is the new coach of Juventus: the Tuscan coach has signed a contract until June 30, 2026.
Born in Certaldo, in the province of Florence, in 1959, Spalletti began his coaching career 30 years ago, after playing for Speciav and Empoliv, among others. He began his coaching career precisely at the Tuscan club, winning a Coppa Italia in Serie C and then earning a place in Serie A, establishing himself as one of the most innovative coaches in the Italian championship.
The crowning moment came with Udinese in the early 2000s, with whom he reached European competitions for three consecutive years. In the 2004/05 season, he secured the Friulian club's first ever qualification for the Champions League, which then led them to the last four, following Roma, winning two Coppa Italias and an Italian Super Cup.
From 2009 to 2014, Spalletti managed Zenit St. Petersburg, winning two league titles, a cup and a Russian Super Cup, before returning to Italy to manage Roma and then Inter. Champion of Italy at the end of the 2022/23 season with Napoli, the Tuscan coach then served as coach of the Italian national team until last June.
A competent and experienced profile, we are pleased to welcome him to the black and white family. Welcome to Juventus and good luck, mister!
