The Executive Committee of the Albanian Football Association (AFHA) has approved the change in the regulations of the "Abissnet Superiore" championship for the "Final 4" phase.
After a consultative meeting with club leaders, where the majority expressed support for this proposal, the Executive Committee decided to approve it. Thus, starting from the 2025-2026 season, the “Final 4” phase will operate according to this regulation:
The championship has 4 regular stages, home and away.
The standings after 36 weeks determine the participants in the Final 4.
The top four teams qualify for the Final 4.
Points in the Final 4 will be halved, based on the lowest value.
A total of 6 matches will be played and the schedule is as follows:
Week 1
Place 1 vs Place 4
Place 2 vs Place 3
Week 2
Place 1 vs Place 3
Place 2 vs Place 4
Week 3
Place 1 vs Place 2
Place 3 vs Place 4
All matches take place at the “Air Albania” stadium. Participants in the European competitions are determined by the ranking of the Final 4. The 9th and 10th place of the “Abissnet Superiore” are relegated from the category.
The 8th place of "Abissnet Superiore" goes to the "play out".
In the event of a tie in points between two or more teams in the “Final 4” stage, the ranking will be determined according to the following criteria:
– Points accumulated in direct matches during the championship and the Final 4 phase;
– Goal difference (scored – conceded) in direct matches during the championship and the Final 4 phase;
– Overall goal difference throughout the season (championship + Final 4).
