Montenegrin police have arrested a sports coach from Plevlja, identified by the initials MG, 50, on suspicion of sexual harassment. The arrest was made in the city of Budva after authorities received information that he had harassed a 14-year-old girl he trained.
According to the Montenegrin Police, investigations have revealed that MG may be involved in another similar case, which occurred about two years ago in Tivat, where he is suspected of having molested another underage girl who was part of the sports club where he worked.
“ After a series of activities undertaken by police officers of the Budva Security Department in cooperation with officers of the Plevlja Security Department, MG, 50 years old from Plevlja, employed as a coach of a sports club in that city, was arrested.
"The coach is accused of abusing his profession and official authority, as these minors were entrusted to his care during the exercise of his profession as a coach and they were in a relationship of dependence and subordination in relation to him ," the statement said.
After the arrest, the coach was taken to the General State Prosecutor's Office in Kotor, where criminal charges for sexual harassment and abuse of office were filed against him. Investigations to fully clarify the case are ongoing.
