The Albanian U-15 national team drew 1-1 in the first friendly match against North Macedonia, a challenge that was played this afternoon at the "Gjorgji Kyçyku" stadium in Pogradec.
The only goal for the Reds and Blacks in this meeting was scored by the attacker, Mattia Xhemali.
Coach Armand Damo started the match against North Macedonia with this starting line-up: Marsid Hoxha, Eno Resuli, Joart Mile, Rian Neza, Denis Nikolli, Angelos Como, Erjon Vajushi, Alis Cela, Haxhi Rrena (C), Gentjan Sharka and Mattia Xhemali .
Albania U-15 dominated the match from the start of the match and created several good scoring chances, but the goal came only in the 34th minute with Mattia Xhemal. The striker scored a very nice goal and the first half ended 1-0 for the Reds and Blacks.
During the second half, coach Armand Damo made several substitutions on the field, giving the opportunity to almost all players to show their qualities.
North Macedonia found the net in the 80th minute and equalized. Despite conceding the goal, Albania did not slow down and only after two minutes won a 11-meter penalty, but Rian Neza's shot was stopped by the opposing goalkeeper. The result did not change until the end and the first friendly ended in a 1-1 draw.
The second friendly meeting between Albania U15 and North Macedonia U-15 will be played on Saturday, August 24 at the "Skënderbeu" stadium in Korça, at 17:00.
