China wins first Olympic gold medals, absolute dominance of two teenagers in shooting

Two Chinese teenage shooters have become the first gold medal winners of this edition of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, showing their absolute dominance in the mixed 10m rifle shooting competition.

19-year-old Sheng Lihao and 17-year-old Huang Juting won by showing absolute dominance over their opponents in the qualifiers. In the final against South Korea, they struggled to secure a 16-12 success only after an "awakening" of their rivals, who struggled to get close after they had secured a significant 14-8 advantage.

The Chinese couple is very popular in their homeland where they have many followers on social networks in which they show their life between sports and everyday life. Now both will seek to win medals in the individual competitions in this discipline.
