The news of the official renewal was given yesterday morning by the AFL: "The Albanian Football Federation renews the contract with the coach of the national team, Silvinjo, as well as the two vice-coaches, Pablo Zabaleta and Doriva. The Communication Department in the AFL informs that the new contract with coach Silvinjo and his two assistants, Zabaleta and Dorival, will last until December 2025 and work will immediately begin on the UEFA Nations League matches and the Cup qualifiers of the World. The first challenge is the UEFA Nations League, with this competition that will serve the technical staff to prepare the team as best as possible for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. After the success achieved by qualifying for the European Championship 'Germany 2024', now the main goal will to be a historic qualification to the 2026 World Cup finals.
Reaching the agreement and continuing the project shows the vision of the AFL to increase the level of the National team as much as possible with the main objective to achieve other historic successes in the future. Under the direction of coach Silvinjo, the Albanian National Team has shown remarkable progress and stability. Albania qualified for the second time in history in a European Championship, where it showed a worthy and convincing performance in the qualifying matches, as well as facing worthy opponents of high level in 'Euro 2024' against Italy, Croatia and Spain. The renewal of the contract signifies the AFF's commitment to continuity and stability, while the ambitious journey towards the objective of a historic qualification for the 2026 World Cup begins.
Behind the scenes with the salary
Undoubtedly, with the new contract, the salary of the technical staff has also increased. The AFL had an expenditure of 1.1 million euros in the first contract, with the coach receiving 750 thousand euros and the rest going to his assistants, Zabaleta and Doriva. Meanwhile, the newspaper learns that the new contract of the technical staff has cost around 1.5 million euros, with Silvinho receiving 1 million euros and the two assistants the rest. Therefore, in the event of qualifying for the World Cup, a bonus is provided for the technical staff.
