Almost 30-year-old mystery / Who poisoned the cast of the famous movie

In 1996, during the filming of the movie Titanic, around 80 people, including James Cameron and Bill Paxton, ended up in the hospital after parts of the food on the set were sprayed with the hallucinogenic drug PCP.

Police in Halifax, Nova Scotia, closed the case in 1999, but Information and Privacy Commissioner Tricia Ralph ordered police to release all information they have about the incident.

According to 'The Guardian', the police created a quick 10-page incident report at the time, but parts of the witness statements were redacted.

Ralph ordered months ago that the unredacted report be released.

If Ralph succeeds, the 10-page report could shed light on the incident that has puzzled and intrigued film fans for nearly three decades.

What are the theories about the case?

It depends on who you ask.

At the time, the man in charge of the company that served the food blamed Hollywood in general, saying, "It was the Hollywood crowd that brought in the psychedelic ... But it got out of hand."

But can it be true? No. Last year Cameron told a Canadian talk show that it could have come from someone who wanted to get the caterers in trouble after having an argument with them.

"Of course, the operating theory was that I was such a psycho that [the author was] trying to get back at me, but I reject that theory out of hand for obvious reasons," he said.

This is almost as big a mystery as the sinking of the Titanic itself.
