An old notebook of verses that belonged to rapper Lil Wayne will be sold at auction with a starting price of $5 million. The notebook, used by the American rapper when he was 17 in the 90s, contains lyrics to the songs "Grown Man" from the album "Tha Carter II", as well as "We on Fire" by the Hot Boys and a doodle.
The five million dollar prize has a history. The notebook was discovered by an unidentified man in a car previously owned by the rapper's Cash Money Records partner. He kept the notebook until 2019, when he sold it for the first time at auction for $250,000, foreign media reported.
Wayne himself tried to legally block the sale, claiming the notebook was lost and accusing the man of hiding the item and putting it up for sale when he needed money. He also took legal action against Moments in Time for the auction.
The man fought back legally, arguing that whoever finds something gets to keep it, and asked the court to declare him the legal owner of the notebook. The rapper never answered, so the court decided against him. The auction house buys and sells papers, manuscripts, photographs, scientific articles and literary works of important figures.
Lil Wayne is the most controversial rap artist of all time. He has been a big fan of Saudi Arabia's Prime Minister Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Al Saud since the rapper visited the country in 2020.
