"I am not a regular soldier", Aulon Kalaja is convinced that the votes

The Democratic Party candidate in Durrës, Aulon Kalaja, who has requested the Central Election Commission to provide video footage of the vote counting, says that such a request was made to provide footage to see the process for irregularities that occurred.

Speaking to MCN TV, he stated that gang patrons took over the candidates for MP and inflated them with votes.

He then explained that he requested footage not only of the counting of candidates, but also of the parties, so as not to draw conclusions without analyzing the footage.

Kalaja added that he has requested a recount of the votes and will stand by his request, as he states that he did not make such a request in vain.

Among other things, he added that there were Democratic Party MP candidates who saw the results on television, while they should have stayed there and followed the process.

Kalaja: It has been speculated that I only requested footage of the candidates, but at the CEC I requested footage of the counting between the parties, the SP and the DP, and of course with the candidates as well.

In the CEAZ where I was present, I kept notes with schedules where I was suspected and an analysis will be conducted with the video footage that the CEC has made available to me.

Not all of the CEAZ images have been downloaded. I am in contact with the IT office at the CEC, they have asked me for a hard drive with the necessary capacity to download them.

I am the first candidate to have requested this process, more precisely transparency to see what happened at certain tables with the vote counting.

I know that the Socialist Party has issued a circular telling its members that most of them are regular soldiers, and it has forced its own people to withdraw from the request.

I will go to the end of the process, there is no comparison between us and the SP. I am not a regular soldier. I believe there is something there, that is why I made this request.

I have addressed two requests to the CEC, the first to make the film plans available to me, a decision that has already been made. I have requested a recount.

At KAS, led by Ilir Rusmajli, Koli Bele, etc., I held the first session.

Regarding the recount, KAS told me that we will not accept your request now, that we are waiting for the summary table for the Durrës region to be released, since the diaspora vote was not included. I have already passed over 8 thousand votes in the Durrës region.

The CAS has issued a decision and they have told me that at this moment you cannot request a recount of the ballot boxes, so I am waiting for the final table.

In parallel with this, I am dealing with the footage, with lawyers, supporters and volunteers. I am not doing it for a mandate. I have given my word that I will protect the vote.

This is a matter of dignity. Nothing bad comes to us from transparency. This is a check that should happen routinely by the CEC.

The Socialist Party has withdrawn its own people, I will stick with it until the end, no matter what.

I have not made any political statements, I have been sleepless for 9 days, I thank the DP counters and observers.

And this is one of the biggest flaws of this Electoral Code, as the work should have been done by machines.

We need 9 days to produce a result that is half-baked. I have not come to a conclusion whether the elections should be bought or not.

When I analyze all the footage, I will come up with a political stance. I cannot come to conclusions without reading the citizens' vote.

I have requested videos not only of the counting of candidates, but also of the parties. I cannot conclude whether our votes were taken or not.

There were candidates for MPs from my party who saw the result on television, while they should have stayed there and followed the process.

Why do you think I'm one of those Albanians who doesn't believe that Durrës is not run by criminal gangs?

I absolutely believe as Mr. Berisha does, and for this it is enough to see who is first on the open list of the Socialist Party.

The gang patrons took one candidate for deputy and flooded them with votes. The party and the government did not stop at any moment.
