Socialist Party MP Erion Braçe has reacted after the incident that occurred at the entrance to the Presidency of the Assembly, where he was involved in a physical confrontation with a journalist.
Brace claims that he and other SP colleagues were targeted by a person, whom he describes as an "attacker", and that the journalist was in collaboration with him.
According to Braçe, earlier in the day the same person had cursed and insulted Socialist MPs Sara Mile and Ervin Hoxha, while the journalist, according to him, had filmed the incident.
The MP says that when he returned to the entrance of the Parliament, he saw the journalist and the person in question approaching him.
"I extended my hand to create distance with the journalist, while the attacker was coming towards him, cursing. Yes, I pushed him away after he got in my face ," Braçe writes.
He adds that he told the journalist that he had no more business with him if, according to him, he "goes out in ambush with attackers," while admitting that he addressed the other person with inappropriate words.
In his response, Brace says he feels no obligation to apologize, arguing that the journalist and the person he accuses of assault have become "one".
"I have a part of me that needs to apologize. But who should I apologize to, the journalist or the attacker? It's been a while since they've been one ," the MP writes.
Erion Braça's reaction:
I started the day today at 07:30. I was in the office, in the Assembly. I left there and went to the field, around 08:30, through the neighborhoods of Unit 5. I returned to the Assembly and saw the group of attackers near its doors, just like they are every day and night on the boulevard.
I went upstairs to the office and saw a video (you can see it below), where the attacker and the journalist, both together, attacked two MPs, Sara Milen and Ervin Hoxha. You can see the video here: the attacker is seen swearing, insulting, and insulting, and the journalist is filming it according to the plan: "The people are attacking the MPs."
From my office windows I heard noises below, at the door of the Parliament. A little while later, in front of its door, I saw the journalist and the attacker together, discussing another plan (you can see their video here).
I went outside to meet the people who were waiting for me. I went back to the Assembly and saw the journalist and the attacker in the same place. I saw them get up and attack me, as they did to my two colleagues two hours ago.
I extended my hand to create distance from the journalist, while the attacker was coming up next to him, cursing; it can be heard in his video.
I told the journalist, whom I respected in any case, that when you go out in ambush with an attacker, you have nothing to do with me. Yes, I pushed him away, after he got in my face. The attacker continued to curse and I returned with inappropriate words, but deserved for anyone who takes it upon himself to attack and lynch another person. The mandate does not matter, I'm talking about a person.
With one difference here: I didn't tell him a quality that is heard; he just said it for himself.
That's all. I continued working. I stood at the door of the Parliament two more times to answer people who asked for me. The last one was a citizen from Burreli who was seeking help for medicine at the QSUT.
One more thing:
I have a part of me that wants to apologize. But who should I apologize to, the journalist or the attacker? It's been a while since they've been one: attacker and violent, one!
Share: either be a journalist, or be an attacker in the ambushes that journalists set up.
