Ron Yeffet's American case is taking an even more dramatic and ironic turn. The Israeli-American businessman, who is facing a lawsuit in the US accusing him of extorting over $8 million from investor Mark Faist, now claims that the greatest damage was not caused by the lawsuit itself, but... by the Albanian media that published the story.
In the latest documents filed in the US court, Yeffet claims that media publications in Albania and the political reactions that followed have destroyed his reputation and cost him a giant investment in Albania, from which he says he expected to earn over $30 million.
Indirectly, the document acknowledges that the story initially published by " Pamphlet ", and then distributed in other media, has produced a real shock to his position in Albania.
According to the counterclaim filed by Ron Yeffet against Mark Faist, the Israeli businessman claims that Faist has defamed him by calling him a "fraudster", "thief", "criminal", "liar" and "manipulator", while these statements, according to him, were later spread in Albania by the opposition and the media.
“ Due to Faist’s defamatory statements, which also touched on the fact that Yeffet knew the Prime Minister and the Albanian ambassador to France, the opposition and the media in Albania took these statements and claimed that the Prime Minister was friends and did business with a fraudster. The Albanian media stories were widely shared on Albanian social networks.
"Based on these Albanian media stories, which relied on Faist's statements and where he was identified by name, Yeffet was removed from the project's investor group in Albania, because the people leading the development felt that, due to the media stories, they could not risk approvals and financing by having Yeffet as an investor ," he says.
So, according to the documents filed in the US, the project partners in Albania feared that Ron Yeffe's name could create problems with permits, financing, and approvals.
Essentially, Yeffet himself is admitting in court that the public exposure of his story has produced real alarm for the businesses he was involved with.

“Yeffet priste të fitonte më shumë se 30 milionë dollarë nga pjesëmarrja në zhvillimin shqiptar, nga i cili u përjashtua si rezultat i drejtpërdrejtë i deklaratave shpifëse të Faist.
Për pasojë, Yeffet ka pësuar dëme të konsiderueshme, përfshirë dëmtim të reputacionit personal dhe të biznesit, humbje të mundësive të biznesit, humbje të avantazheve ekonomike të pritshme dhe dëme të tjera kompensuese. Dhe këtu nis pjesa më interesante e historisë. Cili është projekti në Shqipëri për të cilin Yeffet pretendon se humbi mbi 30 milionë dollarë fitime?
Dokumenti nuk e identifikon drejtpërdrejt projektin, por shuma e përmendur tregon se bëhet fjalë për një investim shumë të madh, me peshë politike dhe ekonomike.
Pra, njeriu që në Shqipëri u fut në industrinë e armëve, mori tenderë publikë dhe krijoi kompani me shtetin shqiptar, tani pretendon në gjykatë se mediat i shkatërruan një mega-investim.
Në fakt, vetë dokumentet gjyqësore tregojnë se Shqipëria nuk ka qenë thjesht një destinacion biznesi për Ron Yeffet, por pjesë e një skenografie të ndërtuar me kujdes për të impresionuar investitorët.
Në padinë fillestare të Mark Faist, përshkruhen udhëtime luksoze me avion privat drejt Shqipërisë, takime me Edi Ramën dhe ambasadorin shqiptar në Francë, autokolona me truproja të armatosura dhe qëndrime në komplekse private luksoze.
Sipas dokumenteve, Yeffet përdorte pikërisht këto lidhje dhe këtë akses politik për të krijuar idenë se ishte një njeri me pushtet të jashtëzakonshëm në Shqipëri.
“Gjatë udhëtimit, grupi vizitoi Pallatin e Versajës dhe familja Faist u prezantua me disa nga kontaktet më mbresëlënëse të Yeffet-it: Kryeministrin e Shqipërisë dhe ambasadorin shqiptar në Francë dhe Monako. Këto prezantime ishin të kuruara me kujdes për të përforcuar imazhin e Yeffet-it si një njeri me shtrirje globale dhe ndikim në biznes”, thuhet në padi.
Madje, sipas dokumenteve amerikane, Yeffet kishte hedhur edhe idenë e sigurimit të një pasaporte shqiptare për investitorin amerikan Mark Faist, si pjesë e “trajtimeve ekskluzive” që ai pretendonte se mund të siguronte përmes lidhjeve në Tiranë.
Ndërkohë, një tjetër pjesë e errët e historisë lidhet me Fisher Island, ishullin ultra-luksoz në Florida ku Yeffet rezulton pronar pronash dhe i lidhur me struktura kompanish që çojnë te emra kontroversë ndërkombëtarë.
Investigations and public documents show that Yeffet is listed as an authorized person in the company "Island Fisher Enterprises 18 LLC", associated with the address 7173 Fisher Island Drive.
In the same corporate structure, the name of Vakif Arif also appears, part of the Arif family, a family of Kazakh businessmen linked by international investigations to offshore networks, real estate, energy, and shady financial dealings.
This is why Ron Yeffe's story is no longer seen as an ordinary business conflict.
On one side we have a businessman connected to arms companies in Albania, with public tenders and political access at the highest levels.
On the other hand, we have an American file where he is accused of fraud involving millions of dollars, while he himself admits that publishing these stories in Albania has ruined his investments and reputation.
The biggest irony is that Yeffet himself, who according to the documents used Albanian political connections as a prestige card to convince American investors, is now complaining that the public exposure of these connections is costing him millions. / Pamphlet
