Democratic Party MP Tomor Alizoti has reacted to Prime Minister Edi Rama's stances in the face of the protests that have been taking place in the country for weeks, arguing that the head of government's harsher language is related to two main reasons.
In a public reaction, Alizoti dwells on Rama's statement, who addressed the protesters with the phrase "Fuck you", describing this as the result of a political calculation that, according to him, does not consider the protest as an electoral threat.
According to the Democratic MP, the Prime Minister bases his political security on the public administration, the network of patronage agents and other mechanisms that, according to him, guarantee the election results. For this reason, the protesters have no place in his political calculations.
However, Alizoti says that Rama's reaction is not only related to the electoral aspect. He argues that the protests are creating increasing pressure on justice institutions, at a time when, according to him, the number of files arriving from European Union countries is also increasing.
Alizoti emphasizes that the echoes that the protests have received in the international media and the growing interest in developments in Albania may increase attention to investigative institutions and issues related to the government.

The reason why Rama addressed his people in English, in the world's largest economic media, with
“Fuck you”, it is mathematical. Rama is not a leader who faces equal rules with his opponents. As such, he does not see the protesting people as an electorate without which he cannot survive.
His electoral mathematics has nothing to do with the protesting electorate. It is simpler and is based on three main components: 200 thousand employees paid by our taxes, in strong cooperation with 100 thousand patronages, ensure his victory. For this victory to surpass any other force in front, the guarantee is taken from the billions of traffickers and cartels who sponsor and buy the surplus of votes. Or blackmail and persecute those who come out against him.
Therefore, the people as protesters are not part of the calculation in his electoral arithmetic. This kind of electoral reality, which keeps him in power, allows him to do anything, say anything, and behave like a thug.
The second reason why he used it is legal. It has nothing to do with the protesting people, but with the pressure that this protest is putting on the justice systems. The latter had a pact that is being put in jeopardy today. The pact that Rama is their political guarantor is being put in jeopardy.
Many files are coming from EU countries, which are increasingly surrounding his office. And while the pressure of the files was resisted by propaganda and lobbying, the increasing pressure of the protest makes the pact shaky. It shows it in the world media.
What happens if SPAK prosecutors face this pressure? If the questions at SPAK no longer come from convention media, but from journalists from CNN, BBC, FAZ, Reuters, etc., etc.?
What happens when public pressure and international media questions are added to the files and wiretapping of EU countries? This is a panic greater than the electoral one. This pressure cannot be resisted even by vote theft, or by 83 or 93 mandates. Therefore, "Fuck you" was more for the citizens not as voters, but as protesters who turned the attention of foreign media and the European Parliament towards the Albanian reality.
This pressure may make it possible for the new justice system to investigate the head of government most connected to crime on the continent.
"And I believe this is the biggest reason why today, tomorrow and every day, we should all be in protest. Because this is the only way for his pact to be broken, for him to be unable to use his power over stolen and blackmailed mandates ," Alizoti wrote in reaction.
