Protests against politics, Tabaku: Albania has risen to its feet, the Government
Democratic Party MP, Jorida Tabaku

Democratic Party MP Jorida Tabaku stated in Parliament that the protests taking place in the country are not only related to opposition to investments in Zvërnec, but represent citizens' dissatisfaction with a system that, according to her, is forcing Albanians to leave the country.

Tabaku said that the protesters are demanding change and that their message should be heard by both the opposition and the government.

"Today they are protesting for a reality, what they have experienced for years, that this parliament and the Socialist Party no longer represent them, they are protesting because they do not want to leave. I have been going to that protest since the first day and there has been no greater emotion than having young people on your side who are against what is happening in Albania today."

For 4 years in a row, together with my DP colleagues, we have requested 14 documents for the law on protected areas, strategic investments, etc., to show that Albania's future is at a crossroads, that government decisions are preventing Albania from moving forward in the integration process.

"Today, the whole of Albania has risen to its feet and we must listen, first of all, as a political force and of course be part of it, but also listen to the government with their legitimate request for resignation, with their legitimate request to change Albania today, and change begins with the departure of the Socialist Party ," said Tabaku.
