Just as he led the campaign by turning May 11 into a kind of referendum between himself and Edi Rama, Berisha has also undertaken to continue the process of denunciations, which are then 'loaded' onto USBs and flown to the DP's allies around the world. In the European Parliament, connections with EPP MEPs will be used to denounce each and every instance of Brussels.
A few hours after the vote counting process for the May 11 elections began, Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha declared that the process was rigged and that the result would not be known. Berisha also rushed to declare that he would follow the same path as 24 years ago, when after the 2001 elections, he undertook an information tour of Brussels and various European countries, tarnishing the elections. At that time, the Socialists led by Fatos Nano counted 84 mandates, while today the Socialist Party led by Edi Rama will control 83 seats in the new Parliament.
For Berisha's loyalists in the DP, today is a situation similar to 2001, although in more than two decades a lot has happened and things have changed. But they think that even 24 years ago we had an isolated Berisha, where the favorite of the Europeans was Genc Pollo, who at that time had founded a small party, but who managed to get 5 deputies, although in 2025, Berisha carries two 'non grata' on his shoulders, one from the USA and the other from the United Kingdom.
And while 24 years ago, Fatos Nano, as leader of the Socialists, was denied 84 mandates, with which at that time the President of the Republic and almost half of the heads of the Constitutional institutions were elected, today Edi Rama would have enough 71 mandates to continue governing peacefully, without causing political crises. And it seems that this is the reason that, unlike 24 years ago, when the DP questioned the absolute majority of the Socialists in the Assembly, for May 11th, the result is not recognized, the creation of a technical government and the repetition of the elections are being demanded.
At the DP headquarters, it seems that the attention and hope is on the United States of America, which has not yet made any reaction regarding the May 11 elections. There is not even a formal message from the USA to congratulate the winner, who 48 hours after the election day managed to receive formal messages from European and EU leaders for winning the 4th consecutive term as Prime Minister.
Berisha appears in the media every day, around noon, and presents what he considers to be evidence and facts about the manipulation of the elections. It is not known whether in this battle Berisha will have Fredi Beleri, the MEP of New Democracy, on his side, who after May 11 appeared critical, but claimed that the Greek Prime Minister knew before the elections that Edi Rama would win. However, Mitsotakis has not yet sent a congratulatory message to Edi Rama for his May 11 victory, as he was also absent from the summit of the European Political Community that took place in Tirana between May 15 and 16.
Meanwhile, in relation to the US, it seems that the greatest weight has been left to Fatmir Mediu, Berisha's loyal ally, who not only enabled the arrival of Chris LaCivita as the opposition's 'campaign strategist' for May 11, but also seems to have played the role of 'breaking' the contract with the lobbying company "Continental Strategy", which if it lasts two years, has a value of 6 million dollars. But Mediu will not be alone, since Belind Këlliçi has also been mandated by the DP headquarters, while other names are those of Gazment Bardhi and Agron Gjekmarkaj, two political leaders, one in Fier and the other in Lezha.
In parallel with international denunciations, which are in the foreground and the aim will be to do the maximum before the ODIHR publishes the final report on May 11 in July, it seems that Berisha's Democrats will begin to analyze what has gone wrong in their functioning.
It is not yet known to what extent an internal analysis will be carried out in the DP, but from the reports, it seems that the second or third week of June may mark the start of the analysis process. From the public statements of some of the leaders of the DP, it has been said that everything will be analyzed and based on these analyses, responsibilities will be held, while it seems that this process will be closely linked to whether or not the strategy to 'undo' May 11 through international lobbying or campaigns will be successful. /Pamphlet/
