The Democratic Party MP said that he will not resign from politics under any circumstances. While describing the electoral process as a farce and not a democratic exercise of the right to choose, the Secretary General of the Democratic Party, Flamur Noka, followed the same line as the leader, Sali Berisha.
Asked by Gazetasi.al whether he would resign to make way for a change in leadership, Noka left no room for discussion. He even says that the resignation or change of DP leaders is now a thesis that serves Edi Rama and is encouraged by him to take control of the opposition.
"I understand this desire for the entire party to resign and for Edi Rama to take over the party. This will not happen. We will remain at the forefront of the battle. Rama does not choose the opposition, but the Democrats have decided it. Rama should forget that he can control the opposition and forget that he will create the opposition he wants," Noka said.
Currently, the DP is trying to gather evidence of election manipulation through state intervention and organized crime.
The presence of European Union prime ministers in Tirana and their congratulations on the re-election of Prime Minister Rama is not seen by the DP Secretary General as their acceptance of the election results.
"We must be patient. The institutions and governments of the EU and the US are becoming aware of some of the main facts of election buying, of the use of state resources, of the involvement of organized crime in the election of SP deputies. It is a process that takes time. We will do everything to achieve our objective that Albanians vote freely under the leadership of a technical government," said Noka, without forgetting to also align SPAK with Rama's side.
"The facts showed that SPAK was completely irrelevant in the elections, despite our denunciations. You saw now that, although Mr. Berisha denounced the exponent of organized crime in Durrës several times during the elections, although the Italian authorities had closed the investigation in February, SPAK delayed and postponed the operation to arrest him after the elections and was unable to arrest him, because the operation was exposed," concluded the DP deputy.
