Lapaj and Qafoku clash over protest: Albanians have been called
Adriatic Sea

Adriatik Lapaj and journalist Roland Qafoku were involved in a heated debate in the "Off the Record" studio, as they discussed the protest and its impact on the political situation in the country.

Lapaj described the protest as a just, albeit belated, reaction, emphasizing that it must continue. According to him, the current political class is in a phase of consumption and the protests have brought about changes in the way citizens perceive political reality.

"I think it is a proper reaction, a little late and I think the protest should continue. The current political class, and here I mean the ruling party, is in total exhaustion, it is going through an oversaturation of the whole thing. I am convinced that many things have changed in the conception of the population these days, many things have come out as they are. The truth has come out as it is and I think that each of us has a moral duty to support all those young people who are rising. I am young myself, but I have often heard "young people in the cafe", "Albanians are sheep", etc. This is not true. The opposite is being proven. Of course, they have been betrayed several times in these 35 years and this has disappointed them", said Lapaj.

The discussion then focused on citizens' attitudes towards the protests and their motives for participating in them, leading to an exchange of remarks between Lapaj and Qafoku.

Journalist Roland Qafoku intervened, addressing Lapaj: You too have had this, that the people are afraid. You said this.

Lapaj: I have said that these people are threatened daily and it is true.

Qafoku: The people didn't even ask, Mr. Lapaj. He just went out there and didn't care at all.

Lapaj: You didn't support these either. How is that possible?

Qafoku: I supported them because I was at the protest.

Lapaj: Have you been there these days?

Qafoku: Yes.

Lapaj: Are you in favor of overthrowing the government?

Qafoku: Hey, are you asking me? That's your problem. You're like an investigator.

Lapaj: So what did you go to the square for?

Qafoku: I know what I went for.

Lapaj: If you don't support them then...

Qafoku: You're talking as if you own the protest.

Lapaj: No, no, no. Never in the world. If there is anyone who doesn't think that they came out to get Edi Rama out...

Qafoku: I go out for whatever I feel like.

Lapaj: Don't be afraid to say 'Edi Rama, go away'.

Qafoku: Am I afraid? (Laughs) When I joined the protest for Edi Rama, you weren't in politics at all.
