Tabaku describes the decision as being made in a lack of transparency and accountability, accusing that public property is being treated as private property and is being given to privileged groups in a suspicious manner, although he does not mention the winning company by name.
Democratic Party MP Jorida Tabaku has reacted sharply after the publication of the project for the construction of a tower near the Palace of Congresses in Tirana, describing it as another case where, according to her, public property is being put to the service of limited interests and without transparency.
In a public statement and video on social media, Tabaku said that the new project is not about "nostalgia for old buildings," but about the way state properties are being administered and the lack of institutional control over decision-making.
According to her, the Investment Corporation has turned into a structure that operates without audit and full public accountability, taking state properties under administration and transferring them towards private development in construction projects.
"There is massive construction on public property and citizens have no transparency over decision-making," she said, adding that the current model is leading to the concentration of wealth in a few hands and the weakening of fair economic competition.
Tabaku extended her criticism to other strategic projects in the country, citing cases in Zvërnec, Vlorë Airport and the Port of Durrës, which, according to her, follow the same model of administering public assets without broad consultation and without sufficient transparency.
"The Investment Corporation is one of the most abusive, uncontrolled, unreported and unaudited institutions, which takes public property and issues construction permits.
But who are these people who treat public property as if it were their own? Who are these people who act without accountability, who make decisions without any transparency?
"There is massive construction on public property and no one knows what is happening. The same situation is in Zvërnec. The same situation is at Vlorë Airport. The same situation is at the Port of Durres, where public property is treated as personal property, where there is no transparent decision-making and there is no broad consultation with public opinion," says Tabaku.
In her statement, the Democratic MP emphasized that this economic and institutional system is creating inequality and social dissatisfaction, arguing that the lack of competition and meritocracy is harming the country's long-term development.
"This is the system that concentrates wealth in the minority and treats public property as private property," says the MP, calling for a change in the economic model and increased institutional accountability.
At the core of the opposition's political accusations, according to Tabaku, lies the need for a more open economy with equal rules for all market actors.
After granting permits to Fatmir Bektashi, the partner of Sali Berisha's son-in-law, Rama has given the tower at the Congress Palace to Shkëlqim Beshir, a businessman who has become known as Shkëlzen Berisha's "presta nome".
Asnjë përgjigje sepse loja "polic i mirë, polic i keq".
