Car engulfed in flames in Skërfica tunnel

A vehicle was engulfed in flames this evening on the Ura e Kardhiqit - Skërfica Tunnel - Delvinë road axis.

The incident occurred at around 19:45, in the middle of the tunnel, when a Volkswagen vehicle, driven by citizen DB, 53 years old, resident of Delvina, caught fire and was completely burned.

Only the driver was in the vehicle, who got out of the vehicle in time and is in good health.

Firefighters arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire and prevented it from spreading to other parts of the tunnel. The cause of the fire is not yet known and is expected to be investigated by the relevant authorities.
