The Minister of Interior announces the initiation of procedures to declare the slain officer a "Martyr of the Homeland" and warns of responsibility for any violations that may be revealed by the investigations.
The Minister of Interior, Besfort Lamallari, visited this Thursday at the Trauma Hospital the police officer Edison Adri, who was injured during the serious incident in which a State Police employee lost his life.
After meeting with the medical staff, Lamallari stated that the condition of the injured officer is being monitored with special attention by the authorities and that the doctors are carrying out all the necessary procedures for his stabilization. The Minister announced that he has requested the immediate initiation of procedures for declaring the officer who lost his life in the line of duty a “Martyr of the Homeland”. According to him, the event constitutes a heavy loss not only for the victim’s family, but also for the State Police and Albanian institutions.
Lamallari said that he has requested a full analysis of the circumstances of the incident from the Director General of Police, with a focus on compliance with operational protocols, the manner of managing the situation and the identification of any possible disciplinary or legal liability. He stressed that the investigation must be conducted in a comprehensive manner and that any person found responsible will face the consequences provided for by law.
Speaking about the condition of the injured officer, the minister said that according to information received from medical staff, the injuries are in the jaw and neck area, as a result of a gunshot wound. Lamallari avoided providing further medical details, emphasizing that the priority remains the work of the health team.
According to him, doctors are performing the necessary interventions and are working to stabilize the patient's condition, while in such cases time is required to assess the full progress of the treatment. The Minister also stated that state institutions are standing by the family of the injured soldier and are providing any necessary support during this period.
At the same time, he reiterated that the event requires a detailed review of the procedures followed by the police structures, considering the protection of the life and health of police officers as the primary responsibility of every leader. Lamallari announced that the Director General of Police has left for Korça to closely follow the developments and the investigative process. He added that after the visit to the Trauma Hospital, he will also join the authorities on the ground.
The Minister underlined that at this moment the main attention remains on the family of the officer who lost his life and on the efforts to save the life of the injured officer, while investigations will continue to clarify all the circumstances of the incident and determine the respective responsibilities.

Ndaj gjithe shtetet demokratike por edhe diktaturat, e kane trajtuar pak me ndryshe nga profesionet e tjera, si ne page e status. Te merresh me pse shkuan per te kapur nje kriminel etj policia kete pune ka. Po u njoftove se ka ngjarje apo person ne kerkim do shkosh , se ndryshe shperdoron detyren.
