The names of six of those arrested in a joint operation by the Special Prosecution Office (SPAK) and Finnish authorities, which targeted four Albanian-based structured criminal groups, have been released. The detainees are accused of trafficking large quantities of drugs from the Netherlands and Spain to Finland.
Those arrested are:
1. Dorjan Luzaj
2. Geraldo Seferaj
3. Elton Myftari
4. Elton Tavani
5. Erind Teneqexhiu (alias Agalliu)
6. Qevani Fortress
According to SPAK, these are organized criminal structures led by Albanian citizens, who during the years 2022–2024 have continuously trafficked highly dangerous narcotic substances such as cocaine, ecstasy, amphetamine and cannabis.
The trafficking was carried out via land routes, with trucks bearing Polish license plates, while on Finnish territory the distribution was carried out through a well-organized international network. The operation, codenamed “Pietari”, involved checks in several countries and led to the seizure of vehicles, equipment and compromising documents.
SPAK states that the investigations are still ongoing and further developments are expected regarding the identification and arrest of other network associates. Two people are still wanted. Meanwhile, 55 people involved in this trafficking scheme have already been convicted in Finland, including 10 Albanians.
