The hooded masked man, who got out of the driver's seat, shot Mondi Mëhalla as soon as the 43-year-old got into his Range Rover, near his "Xhaxhi Oil" gas station, on November 30 in Elbasan. The video of the moment the 43-year-old was killed clearly shows that a single person may have participated in the execution. The killer gets out of the driver's seat and after completing the mission, gets back behind the wheel and drives away in a black Audi, unlike the real assassination schemes with more than 2 accomplices in the field, when the executioner gets out of the passenger seat, and the others wait for him in the vehicle to quickly leave.
The aggressor approaches the driver's window with a pistol in his hand, at a minimal distance, and shoots at least 6 times. Mehalla, already hit by 2 bullets in the head, tries to move the car indietro for only 1 meter. The cold-blooded killer returns to the car, and in the middle of the gas, moves towards the Librazhd road, and in the village of Miraka he burns the car along with the criminal's pistol.
Investigators still do not know who the perpetrator in this video is, although so far 3 suspects are in custody. It is not known if the perpetrator is among them. But at least one, the arrested person accused of premeditated murder in collaboration, Mahalla's former partner, Ghino Ago, has denied any connection to the murder. Since 2022, the two have had business relationships in car rentals, taxis and fuel.
The gas station guard, Kujtim Pisha, is accused of failing to report a crime, and no details have been obtained from him that could help investigators uncover the perpetrator and motive for the murder of Mondi Mahalla.
The third person in custody, Nevzat Spaho, 29 years old from Prrenjas, is not helping investigators, as he has refused to testify.
The first two arrested, the former partner and the guard, will appear before the Elbasan court on December 5 to be informed of the security measure. Police are still looking for two people, Marselo Arani, 32, and Armando Kola, 35.
Mondi Mëhalla, also known as Edmond Hyka, may have been killed for business reasons, but the possibility of his elimination for disrupting drug deals cannot be ruled out../ Shqiptarja.com
