A flight that had started as a special experience for a group of skydivers ended in tragedy after a small civilian plane crashed on Sunday morning in Tomblaine, near the city of Nancy, in northeastern France.
According to reported information, a total of 11 people lost their lives in the accident.
The plane had taken off from Nancy airport and was carrying a group of skydivers who were about to make their first jump. Immediately after the accident, numerous emergency forces were deployed to the scene, while authorities set up a security perimeter.
The crashed aircraft was a Pilatus with German registration, a model commonly used for parachuting flights.

The prefect of the Meurthe-et-Moselle department, Yves Seguy, went to the scene, while France's Interior Minister, Laurent Nuñez, is expected to arrive to closely follow developments.
The French National Police called on citizens to avoid the area near Salvador Allende Street, to facilitate the work of emergency services and law enforcement.
