New details have come to light regarding how the assailants organized and carried out the murder of Kreshnik Mujeci and his wife in Lezha. It is learned that a car was cut off, while two people with Kalashnikovs got out of an unregistered vehicle and opened fire.
According to investigative sources, the couple was traveling in their Audi on the Balldren-Torovicë road when they encountered an organized ambush. After blocking the road, the perpetrators opened fire on the vehicle, leaving them dead on the spot.
Preliminary verifications show that over 30 bullets were fired at the vehicle, which indicates the intensity of the attack. According to preliminary investigations, the target of the assassination is suspected to have been Kreshnik Mujeci, while his wife remained a victim of the attack. It is suspected that the perpetrators used more than one vehicle and monitored the victims' movements throughout the day.
It is learned that the couple had been to a bar earlier and were suspected of being followed from the moment they left. After the assassination, the perpetrators fled without leaving a trace.
As part of the investigation, police have seized security cameras in the area and are analyzing the footage to identify the suspected perpetrators.
Meanwhile, the main line of investigation remains that of revenge, due to the past of the 39-year-old, who was accused of involvement in the murder of Genc Mhillaj in 2016.
The State Police have announced that they are working intensively to "completely clarify the dynamics of the incident" and to secure evidence that will lead to the identification and capture of the perpetrators. The incident is made even more serious as the couple leaves behind four minor children.
