I recently conducted a rigorous statistical survey across Albania, focusing on several current topics. From the respondents' responses, I statistically extrapolated that only 277 thousand pensioners (approximately) voted for the SP last year, out of about 613 thousand residing in Albania (a few tens of thousands more reside abroad). Otherwise, it can be said that only 45.2% of pensioners within the country voted for the SP, while 54.8% voted for other electoral subjects in the race, or did not vote at all (see Chart 1).

According to another myth circulating in neighborhood cafes or TV stands, it is claimed that almost all public sector employees vote for the Socialist Party. However, this myth is also refuted by the results of the aforementioned statistical survey.
Thus, approximately, only 45 thousand health and education employees voted for the SP last year, out of 83 thousand in total (only 54.2%). About 68 thousand other public sector employees voted for the SP, out of about 106 thousand working in sectors other than health and education (only 64.2%).
Summarizing the above figures, it turns out that a full 40.2% of all public sector employees voted for electoral entities competing with the SP, or did not vote at all (see Chart 2).
