He commands the police, the IKMT, taxes, customs, the army, so he has all the instruments to act silently, without making a noise.
However, in the last press conference, Edi Rama spoke as the court's prosecutor at the same time, warning that he will demolish buildings, seize apartments, and confiscate property.
This verbal torrent is a clear manifestation of the political and psychological tension that has engulfed the prime minister, who seems to be seeking to invent new "hostile groups" to justify internal attacks on his power.
In fact, this is only the second chapter of the purge launched after the arrest of Erion Veliaj. After the massive departures from the administration of those considered close to the former mayor, Rama is extending the broom towards entrepreneurs who had contracts or connections with the Municipality of Tirana. He has openly threatened builders, contractors and business owners, warning them that they will be followed foot and foot by taxes, inspectorates and SPAK. It is an unprecedented act by a prime minister who violates the Constitution and every principle of the separation of powers, using the government as an instrument of pressure for political interests.
The goal is clear: to instill fear, polarize society and control the upcoming elections in Tirana through administrative terror. He knows that the real polls are alarming, less than 35 percent of citizens express willingness to vote for Ogerta Manastirliu, so he has chosen to enter the campaign not with a program, but with threats.
Following his public statements, structures under the government's control have begun sending letters and warnings to businesses considered close to Erion Veliaj.
