US President Donald Trump has promised that the US will release "all" of the documents on Jeffrey Epstein, but warned that critics and conspiracy theorists will never be satisfied.
Speaking at a World Cup press conference, Trump was asked by reporters about the Epstein documents, after a marked shift in his stance on their release. He replied: “We’ll give them all. Of course… but no matter what we give, it’s never enough. We’ve released 50,000 pages and that’s as much as the ‘Russia hoax.’”
Trump compared the release of documents about Epstein to those related to the assassinations of US President John F. Kennedy and civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. in the 1960s, emphasizing that Epstein is in no way comparable to them, but there is a similarity in the request for the release of classified documents.
The president added that the issue is “a Democrats’ problem,” accusing them of being friends with Epstein and calling the case “a hoax.” He added that he would keep the focus on his administration’s “great work” on energy prices and affordability, ending eight wars and the future of another, adding that he doesn’t want those achievements to distract from the focus.
