A bank branch in the Kato Tithorea area, in the Fthiotida region of Greece, was the subject of an armed robbery on Monday morning, in an operation that Greek media described as professional and carefully organized.

According to LamiaNow.gr, three armed robbers entered the bank shortly after 10:00 a.m. There were three people inside at the time of the attack.

One of the perpetrators, elegantly dressed, threatened employees with a firearm, while another, equipped with heavy weaponry, descended on the bank's vault area, LamiaReport.gr reported.

According to initial estimates, the robbers managed to take about 200,000 euros. As they were leaving the bank, some of the money fell to the ground and they stopped to collect it before speeding away in a silver vehicle, driven by a fourth accomplice.

According to Greek media information, the perpetrators fled in the direction of Velica e Parnassi.

The police operation is still ongoing, while numerous police forces have been deployed in the surrounding area, conducting checks and searches to identify and arrest the perpetrators.

Greek police announced that during the afternoon hours, eight people, six men and two women, were escorted, who are being questioned for possible involvement not only in today's robbery, but also in other cases of robbery.

According to authorities, heavy weaponry has been discovered so far during the investigation.

Greek media reports that the group acted with complete calm and was professionally organized. The perpetrators were armed with Kalashnikovs, Uzi assault rifles and pistols.

One of them was carrying a cane and pretending to be limping to avoid attracting suspicion. Two of the robbers wore wigs, scarves and hats to hide their facial features and communicated with each other by radio.

However, during their escape, they left behind some banknotes and a mobile phone. According to reports, the perpetrators managed to take the phone, but not all the money that had fallen to the ground.

A few hours later, the vehicle used in the robbery was found in the area of Agia Marina in Fthiotida, towards the village of Zemeno, about 50 kilometers from the bank where the armed attack took place.

Police are analyzing security camera footage and suspect that the robbers either had another accomplice waiting for them, or had left a second getaway vehicle there.
