Security expert Fatjon Softa was invited today to "News24 Weekend", where he analyzed the possibility of attacks from Iran, especially after warnings from the US embassy.
Softa listed three reasons that, according to him, could turn our country into a target of attacks, while recommending full transparency towards citizens and increased protective measures by the Albanian government.
He added that Iran is not sparing any country and has described Albania as a "small, evil country that collaborates with our enemies," emphasizing the need for caution.
"If you look at the messages distributed by the US Embassies in the region, there is no one like the one posted for Albania, it is special. It is considered a warning that comes as a result of a risk analysis.
The attack may not necessarily be military, it may also be a cyber attack, a hybrid.
There are three reasons for the warning, the presence of the MEK camp, Albania is an ally of the US and the resolution in the Parliament that declared Iran a terrorist country.
There needs to be a reaction and information for Albanian citizens because it is very important to have transparency, measures are better than how to avoid or not a comment in public. The government should increase its presence towards the embassy, the area of Durrës near the MEK and key points that could be targets of attacks such as dams, ports, etc.
"Iran is not sparing any country, it has declared that: Albania is a small, evil country that collaborates with our enemies," Softa said.
