One of the activists of the protest that has been held in front of the Prime Minister's Office for 45 days, demanding the resignation of Edi Rama, has compared the Albanian Prime Minister to Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko.
According to him, the daily resistance of citizens has highlighted, as he claims, a governance model similar to that of authoritarian regimes.
"45 days, unimaginable. This protest has strongly denounced the corruption of this government. The massive turnout of youth and citizens has aged this corrupt government like never before," the activist said.
He stated that the protest has damaged the image that, according to him, Rama has built in the international arena.
"45 days, unimaginable. This protest has strongly denounced the corruption of this government. The massive turnout of youth, citizens, has aged this corrupt government like never before. For 45 days of peaceful resistance, we have managed to unmask this prime minister, who when he went abroad to Albania presented himself and promoted himself as an innovative leader, who had put everything on the line and Albania was flourishing. For 45 days they showed Europe and not only that this is not an innovative leader, but that he is a second Lukashenko. Just like Lukashenko who has been in power for decades and is justified in holding power with the votes of the people, Rama has created an autocratic system to oppress the people, where the minority benefits at the expense of the majority." , he said.
