For 20 years, Astiri, one of the most populated areas of Tirana, has not had a public kindergarten or school. Around 70,000 residents of this area send their children to other areas of the capital or to private institutions.
This is how they will be forced to act this new school year. The lack of schools in the Astir area became a political debate during the electoral campaign of the May 11 elections. The leader of the Democrat Party, Berisha, pointed his finger at the wound. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Rama and the acting mayor of the municipality presented the project to build the first public school and kindergarten in this area.
On Monday, September 8, the teaching process begins, and with it the daily suffering of Astir parents to take their children to schools far from their homes.
