Changes in the leadership of the Prison Service, Merkaj will lead prison supervision

Eduart Merkaj, who until a few months ago was the head of the Police Supervision Agency, has been appointed to the position of head of the Internal Prison Control Service.

Merkaj left the AMP about 1 month ago, while recently Toni Gogu, Minister of Justice, signed his appointment as head of the ACS.

The latter is headed by Indrit Doda, who has been in this position for about 6 months. Doda, with a career in the field of the State Police, was appointed by the former Minister of Justice, Besfort Lamallari, to head the SCBB, in October 2025.
