Footballers in Spain have rebelled against La Liga's plans to play a match this season in the United States. A sponsor had secured the La Liga match between Villarreal and Barcelona on December 20 in Miami, with significant financial gains. But the lack of transparency has not pleased the players.
The captains of La Liga clubs gathered today in a meeting of their union and with a unanimous decision they came out against this match. In their statement, they expressed their opposition to the holding of such a match, as the organizers have not provided any information about it despite their request.
The players wanted to know the conditions under which the match would take place, how much each player in the Spanish championship would collectively benefit, and everything else that involved the tiring journey or even the security there. Questions for which they had not received answers, so a boycott of this match has been decided if no detailed information about it is provided within a short time.
