Despite the years, Jose Mourinho continues to write extraordinary pages in football history.
With a 2-0 victory over Farense, the 'Special One' sent Benfica into the quarterfinals of the Portuguese Cup and achieved the 750th victory in his trophy-laden career.
The Portuguese club has honored the coach with a special jersey with the number 750. Mourinho himself, known for his boundless ambition, declared: " 750 victories. Which was the most important? The first one? Benfica-Belenenses? Porto-Monaco in the Champions League? The second Champions League final between Inter and Bayern? The one last night? NO! The next one!!! The 751st victory! We work for the future ."
The 62-year-old has left an indelible mark in Europe, managing Inter and Roma in Italy, Real Madrid in Spain, as well as teams such as Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham in the Premier League. He also had an adventure in Turkey with Fenerbahçe, before returning to Portugal to manage Benfica, after his early experience in 2000. In between, he excelled with Porto and won a total of 26 trophies during his career, with the Conference League victory with Roma in “Air Albania” in 2022 standing out, consolidating his place as one of the most successful and iconic coaches in world football.
