Bad news for the world, discover "The Simpsons" predictions for 2025

In 2000, the season 11 episode "Bart to the Future" aired, which eerily referred to Trump's ascension to power as the 45th president of the United States.

Fans have always been totally confused as to how the show does it, but it looks like there may be some predictions for 2025 – and it doesn't look like good news.

Hubpages reminds us that in an episode of The Simpsons, "Thank God It's Doomsday," Marge decides to cut the kids' hair, but Bart and Lisa want to go to a new, cooler salon downtown.

Homer takes the kids there anyway, despite Marge's objections, but it goes horribly wrong when the salon is in chaos and the pair are left with half-shaven heads.

Hiding from their classmates, Bart, Lisa, and Homer run to a movie theater where they end up watching a movie about the Kidnapping.

After the movie, Homer is scared and thinks the Rapture is on his way. He begins to say that "the stars are falling from the sky" and that "the end is near".

While the people believe Homer at first, the apocalypse never comes and Homer is an outcast, but soon realizes that he actually got the date wrong and that the apocalypse will happen.

A few minutes later, he prays to God to save his family. After some negotiation, God agrees to turn back time and Homer wakes up from his "dream" before being reunited with his loved ones.

While it may sound a bit far-fetched, fans believe the time travel and apocalypse themes could be a foreshadowing of 2025.

With global conflicts escalating in 2024, it's no wonder people are taking a World War III prediction seriously.

Ever since The Simpsons aired, there have been several references to a possible World War III. In a short film from 1987, Homer is convinced that World War III has started and insists that the family rush to a makeshift garden shelter.

Meanwhile, a special scene from "Lisa's Wedding" sees Lisa's British fiancé Hugh Parkfield visiting Moe's Tavern with Homer and Bart in the future.

"Since many of The Simpsons' predictions have come true, will this World War 3 prediction come true?" asked one person on Twitter.

In an episode released in 2009 titled "Treehouse of Horror XX", the world is infected by a virus that turns people into zombies.

Bart seems to be the only person immune to the virus, so the family rushes to a safe zone to protect him. But in a strange twist, the people of Springfield believe that eating Bart can make them invulnerable to the zombie disease.

In an even crazier ending to the episode, Bart manages to "inoculate" the population by contaminating their food before they eat it.

Most of them are completely unrealistic, of course, but they have themes we've seen before during the Covid era.

Social media users think they may be onto something, with one writing on TikTok: “This is what I've been wondering all these years after watching zombie movies, wondering who came up with the idea? And I knew that one day it would become a reality."

It turns out that 2024 was also predicted, however, with another write-up in 2023: “The Simpsons have 'predicted' an apocalypse in 2024.
