Popular singer Rod Stewart was forced to briefly interrupt his concert in West Valley City, Utah, after feeling unwell during the performance and seeking medical attention on stage.
The 81-year-old, who is on his "One Last Time" farewell tour, was performing in a hall located about 1,300 meters above sea level when he was visibly tired and in physical difficulty.
According to released footage, Stewart momentarily leaned on stage equipment to keep his balance, before his team brought him an oxygen tank.
“The show must go on,” he told fans after a few breaths of oxygen. “I almost passed out. Would you mind if I sat down for this song?” the singer added, continuing the performance seated.
The incident comes just weeks after he canceled several concerts due to health concerns. Stewart was previously diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection that caused his larynx to swell.
However, a day after a concert cancellation in San Diego, he was seen at a World Cup match in Boston, traveling by private jet with his two sons, which became the subject of criticism in the media.
Despite health challenges, Stewart has stressed that he does not plan to completely retire from live music, but will continue to perform, reducing major world tours.
