Liman Berisha threatened the moderator: I live abroad and I lost my job

Kosovo moderator Alaudin Hamiti has been at the center of a court case, after the person who had publicly threatened him pleaded guilty and apologized before the Basic Court in Pristina.

According to the verdict published by the media in Kosovo, Liman Berisha has been sentenced to a fine of 2,500 euros for the criminal offense of intimidation.

Before the announcement of the decision, Berisha expressed regret for the statements and threats made against the moderator.

"I feel guilty and I express regret for what I said. Since that recording, I have not had any problems with Alauddin. This is the first time I am being tried and I promise 100 percent that I will not commit another crime. I publicly apologize to Alauddin Hamit and his family," he declared in the courtroom.

Berisha, who lives and works in Italy, said that the case has brought consequences to both his personal and professional life.

"I live abroad and I lost my job. For whatever happened, I am ready to come back and once again apologize," he said.

According to the Prosecution's file, the threats against Hamit were made through Facebook messages and voice recordings during November 2024. In some of them, Berisha used threatening language and also mentioned former Big Brother VIP Kosova resident Edin.

Meanwhile, the moderator's lawyer, Blinera Osmani, stated that the threats had seriously affected the daily life of Alaudin Hamiti and his family.

According to her, the moderator had experienced feelings of insecurity and had limited his movements due to the fear created by the threatening messages.
